OUR VISION

Create opportunities and remove barriers for women, transgender, non-binary, genderqueer, and gender fluid athletes to showcase their highest level talent. Promote gender, racial, and economic equity within the sport of ultimate frisbee. Women, transgender, non-binary, genderqueer, and gender fluid athletes belong in athletics and all marginalized youth deserve to dream without boundaries.

Girls and marginalized youth often have a difficult time envisioning themselves in high level athletics because women, transgender, non-binary, genderqueer, and gender fluid athletes are drastically under-represented in media and in our slowly evolving culture. We want to #BeTheChange and alter this narrative.

OUR MISSION

Our Mission is to burn down barriers for women and LGBTQIA+ athletes in the sport of Ultimate. We strive to promote, support, and foster athletes so they can shine and showcase their talents at an elite-level. We are trailblazers for those who aren’t seen. LIGHT THE FIRE.

SUPPORT OUR COMMUNITY

Land Acknowledgement

Indianapolis Red would like to recognize those that were on this land before us. Indiana was the historic homeland of many Native American tribes including the Shawnee, Miami, Wea, Potawatomi, Delaware, Wyandot, Kickapoo, Piankashaw, Chickasaw and others.

These tribes were removed from the state through a series of treaties in the late 18th and early 19th centuries.

You can learn more about Indigenous tribes in Indiana here. To continue the conversation regarding the land you have access to please consider this set of questions courtesy of the Catalyst Project.

We acknowledge that awareness without action is not enough, we encourage supporters to donate to one of the following Indigenous centered organizations:

Support for the LGBTQIA+ Community

Indy Red denounces the anti-trans bill passed by the Indiana state legislature. On May 24, an effort will take place to reconsider the House Bill 1041. We stand in solidarity with trans athletes of all ages. Indy Red monetarily supports organizations that help the LGBTQIA+ community in Indianapolis.

For each game, Indy Red athletes have individually decided to opt-in to donate that game’s salary towards Indianapolis LGBTQIA+ organizations, including Trinity Haven, GenderNexus, GEKCO, and Indiana Youth Group. Please visit their websites to learn more or to make a donation yourself.
